By default Windows Vista automaticly shows the last username of the user that logged on, the last time Windows Vista was started. If you are behind a router and/or have remote desktop your quite safe for hackers, but if your straight on your modem connected to the internet this can become a security breach very easily.
Because everyone loging on remotely would be able to see the username last used for logon you might want to disable this default feature of Windows Vista. It can be done quite easily by editing your Security Policy via secpol.msc
To disable this Vista feature just follow the steps below:
1) Goto Start, type secpol.msc and then hit ENTER

2) Then browse to Security Settings, Local Policies, Security Options (see figure 2) and select Interactive Logon: Do not display last username.

3) Double click it and select enabled. (see figure 3)
